The Vanderbilt University track is located at the intersection of Natchez Trace and Jess Neely Drive (see map below), approximately 3 miles from downtown Nashville.

The track is approximately 12 miles west of Nashville International Airport, and is within a 15-minute drive via I-40 and I-440.

There is plentiful FREE parking in the lots across Natchez Trace from the track.

Southwest Airlines is usally the cheapest carrier in and out of Nashville International Airport (BNA).

A very economical accommodation option is the Scarritt Bennett Center on Vanderbilt's campus, about 1200m from the track if walking across campus, or a 5 minute drive. It offers no-frills dorm-style rooms (air conditioning, twin bed, bathroom/shower

between each two rooms) for just $45 per night. The rooms do not have TV or Wi-Fi, but there is a large lounge area by the reception that has TVs and Wi-Fi. There are some upgraded rooms that have TV and Wifi and these are $62/night. All rooms are designed for single occupancy.

The Holiday Inn Vanderbilt is conveniently located just 300 meters from the Vanderbilt track facility. It is 12 miles from Nashville International Airport (BNA), is within 400 meters of a dozen restaurants, and offers a complimentary shuttle to destinations within a three-mile radius for its guests.

ELITE ATHLETE HOSTING PROGRAM

We fully appreciate that most post-collegiate track runners are on a very tight budget. With this in mind, the Music City Distance Carnival has, for the last 3 years, executed a program wherein out-of-town elite athletes are hosted by local runners and their families.

This has several advantages:

1. Often, the hosts themselves are running in the meet or planning on spectating, so the athlete usually has a ride to/from themeet, and can often be collected/dropped off at the airport too.

2. The hosts, while not obligated to do so, will often invite the guest athlete(s) to eat with them/their family, and the athletes often end up eating much better than they would if they had gone to a restaurant.

3. The hosts will provide a quiet, clean room with clean sheets, so you don't have to take your chances at a budget hotel. If you would like to be hosted by a local runner/running family, please e-mail the meet director, Dave Milner, at dave@tnrunning.com and inform him of your expected itinerary, any transportation requirements, and whether you have any food/pet allergies. We'll do our best to match you with a host we think you'll get along with.
